August Bank Holiday Weekend saw Terra Nova hosting our Annual Working Newfoundland Tests at Alderford Lake, Whitchurch, Shropshire. These were held over the 3 days, with over 40 dogs and owners coming from all over the country. With over 200 entries in Water, Nosework and Obedience it was quite a challenge but everyone worked very hard and all the tests were completed by Monday evening. We had some amazing passes in all disciplines and have lots of new Champions, one in particular has been trying for 3 years so lots of celebrating too! The dogs work so hard at these events and put so much effort into doing what they love to do so much we are really proud of them. They are all absolute stars!
After the success of the Swim for Welfare across the full width of the lake last year at the end of our 2016 W.N.C. Bank Holiday Tests, we were asked to repeat it again this year.
So on Tuesday morning after the tests 22 owners and their dogs took on the challenge once again. Everyone completed the swim across the lake and some even managed to swim back again, no mean feat! It was lovely to have some fun and complete a long swim with our dogs by our sides. We even managed to raise a total of £40 for welfare, thank you to everyone for their generosity. We look forward to next year.
