Mouse Dist (NW)

We had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy on 15th May 2017 after a very short battle with Lymphoma, he was only just 5 years old. He has left us and his brother Solo absolutely devastated and taken a huge piece of our hearts with him….. Run free over the bridge my special boy until we meet again xxxx

Mouse is 5 years old and is our first Newfoundland. He’s the most affectionate dog we have ever had and never misses an opportunity for a cuddle, he is the ultimate mummy’s boy!! Mouse hates being dirty, he loves swimming but doesn’t like being wet afterwards which for a Newfoundland is very rare!! Mouse was soon followed a year later by his brother Solo who he adores. Mouse spent most of his early years in the show ring with really good successes in both the UK and Ireland. Mouse loves being in the water but doesn’t like leaving mum which has proved a bit challenging – it has taken a lot of hard work training to overcome and it’s still work in progress! Mouse has had a brilliant year in the water achieving passes in all his water tests and totally surprising me along the way. His first Achiever’s Water 2 pass in the Sea at Waxham was really special and in tough conditions, it’s amazing to see what our wonderful breed is capable of. Mouse also enjoys his Draught work which is so rewarding as you are working as a team with your dog and the cart. He has done me proud in this discipline winning the Southern Newfoundland Club Top Draught Dog 2016, he has achieved multiple passes at Level 3 at the start of this season – so we will now have to train for Level 4 which is the highest level and very difficult! He also loves taking part in Nose Work he has multiple passes in Grade 1 & 2 and gained his Distinction by passing Grade 3 at the Waxham test at Easter this year. He also has multiple Obedience passes up to and including Level 4; we are now training for Level 5 (the highest level) to hopefully gain Mouse’s Obedience Distinction in the future. Mouse also goes to Giant Breed Agility every week with North West Giants he absolutely loves it and can usually be found raiding peoples pockets for treats when he’s waiting for his turn!
